- A good opener contains a balanced combination of unique vowels and consonants.
- Tactical second-guessing helps narrow down the letter pool quickly.
- The solution may contain repeated letters.
No time pressure beyond making sure it’s done by midnight. So there’s no reason not to treat the game like a casual newspaper crossword puzzle and come back to it later if you come up empty.

you will want Start with a strong word (opens in a new tab) Like ALERT – something that contains several vowels, common consonants and no repeated letters. Press enter and the boxes will show you which letters you got wrong or right. If a box rotates ⬛️, it means that the letter is not in the secret word at all. 🟨 means the letter is in the word, but not in this position. 🟩 means you found the right letter in the right place.
You’ll want your second visit to compliment the first, using a different “good” word to cover all the common letters you missed last time, while trying to avoid any letter you now know because a fact isn’t present in today’s answer.
After that it’s just a case of using what you’ve learned to narrow down your guesses to the correct word. You have six attempts in total and you can only use real words (so don’t fill the boxes with EEEE to see if there’s an E). Don’t forget that letters can also repeat (for example: books).
