Welcome to September, a favorite month for songwriters and people who love school. It’s another pretty cool month for video games: there are a few potential blockbusters on the release schedule, but nothing with such broad appeal that everyone’s likely to be talking about it at the same time. September is a month for niches.
Glomwood is exciting (opens in a new tab)– There’s no doubt we love our immersive Sims – and Disney’s Dreamlight Valley is a potential crowd pleaser (Lauren has already spent an hour messing with the character’s creator). And in fighting games, don’t think Lego fights (opens in a new tab). It may not have the star power of MultiVersus, but it could surprise us. What’s better than Lego?
Gamescom ended and E3 ended more than two months ago, but no more rules, so this month also comes with a reveal event: Ubisoft Forward, where we’re going to see the next Assassin’s Creed game, a Valhalla spin-off set in Baghdad called Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
