the best US 4K TV deals so far • Eurogamer.net

It’s Black Friday night – and promotions are underway. Specifically, 4K TV deals. While these TVs have been around for ages, only in the last year have modern TVs with HDMI 2.1 become much more expensive and mainstream thanks to the advent of next generation consoles. The PS5 and Xbox Series X may be in high demand, but 4K TV looks like it’s going to be an essential kit for integration alongside a whole new generation of graphics horsepower and loyalty. And what better time to catch one than Black Friday?

However, not everything is just about the potential of the games; 4K TVs vary in their qualities, meaning each one comes with its own pros and cons. If you’re looking for the best visual experience when you play on AAA’s latest blockbuster, the perfect fit for you will likely be different from someone who just wants to watch Formula 1 on a Sunday afternoon, for example. With a wide variety of options, it’s hard to know which TV is perfect for your personal tastes and interests. This is where we come in!

In this article you will find a variety of Black Friday specials for 4K TVs from American retailers, each of which has its own unique features suitable for different uses. Take a look at the highlights below, and feel free to browse our handy guide to the best 4K TVs for more information and general recommendations.

LG C1 OLED (48 inch)

First on the list is our number one choice for 4K HDR games, the 48-inch LG C1 OLED for just $ 1,099.99 at BestBuy. Thanks to its four HDMI 2.1 ports, it opens up the option for 4K 120Hz games on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as computers with modern graphics cards. You get the benefit of variable refresh rate support to smooth uneven frame times on PC and Xbox, with PS5 support still to be expected. It also includes very low input retrieval with its game modes, and as we said, ‘unrivaled contrast, pixel response times, color accuracy and viewing angles’.

You can read more of our thoughts in our article on the LG C1 here.

LG A1 OLED (48 inch)

Next up is the 48-inch LG A1 OLED, available from Amazon for just under $ 900. This TV is a great choice if you are looking for strong visual output when it comes to movies or any kind of slow game, but unlike the LG C1, this TV does not come with any HDMI 2.1 ports which means you will not be able to use the pushed features in next generation graphics processors and consoles The latest, such as variable refresh rate support and 4K 120Hz games. The A1 is still a great TV if you do not need HDMI 2.1 features, but with most TVs lasting years and years, we think it would be wise to invest a little more in the more immune C1 for the future if you can.

LG NanoCell 90 (55 inches)

Nano 85

The third TV we found is a $ 200 savings from BestBuy on a 55-inch LG NanoCell 90, bringing it to $ 900. This is one of the more lucrative options when it comes to excellent 4K gaming TVs, with wide viewing angles, low latency and support for HDMI 2.1, opening a variable refresh rate and 120fps 4K games on compatible devices. Since this TV does not have an OLED screen, instead using an IPS monitor, it will also not risk burning, although the response times of the contrasts and pixels are not as good as in the OLED. Overall, this is a strong value choice, especially for games on the PS5 and Xbox Series X where you can really take advantage of its 4K 120Hz support.

QLED from TCL 6 series (65 inches)

r635

Next up is the TCL 6 from the QLED 65 ?? series, which is offered for $ 799 on Amazon. This TV, although not boasting all the prestigious features you will find in the other TVs mentioned so far, still captures a lot of power in its price. Although it is limited to 60Hz when it goes out to 4K, it still offers a 120Hz panel, which opens up the capability for 120fps HDR games, but it is limited to 1080p or 1440p only. It also supports variable refresh rate and high-contrast mini-LED backlighting with fantastic local dimming. For the price, if this is not the specific 4K 120fps game you are looking for, this is a great choice!

Samsung Q80A (65 inches)

q80a

Next is the 65-inch Samsung Q80A. Right now, it’s $ 200 cheaper than usual, and sells for $ 1,199 at BestBuy. This particular TV has a bright IPS-like panel, meaning its strong points are its wider viewing angles, great for watching TV and sports shows. However, its benefits are not limited to that, as it also includes low input lag and HDMI 2.1 features, which means it is still a pretty good choice if you are also looking for games. However, it lacks the more advanced Mini LED backlight found in Samsung’s flagship TV this year, the QN90A. Still, it’s much cheaper, and the balance of the two sets are compelling values.

Sony A80J (65 inches)

a90j

Being an option at a more premium price, the Sony A80J’s 65-inch has received a huge $ 500 cut from its original price, leaving it standing at $ 1,799 from Best Buy. Not only does it have an OLED screen, which ensures perfect picture quality, it also includes HDMI 2.1, which allows you to play games at 4K 120fps. A variable refresh rate is not currently available on this device, but it has been promised that it will arrive sometime in the future, which will bring its array of features on par with other HDMI 2.1 TVs. Although still more expensive than the 65-inch LG C1, Sony’s reputation for quality makes it a worthy alternative.

If by chance you are looking to buy or build a computer of your own alongside purchasing a 4K TV, we have identified some great deals on other hardware worth checking out.
