Sony stops PlayStation Now stacking to protect its new Premium service

Sony has updated its Frequently Asked Questions page to the PlayStation Plus (picture at the bottom Here) And is further reduced to loopholes that have given users early discounts on its upcoming PlayStation Plus Premium service. It is also suspending the activation of PlayStation Plus vouchers and now for current subscribers until after the launch of its new service in June, and there is even an official conversion table showing the value of these vouchers for its next three services; PlayStation Plus Essentials, Extra and Premium.

After Sony announced its plan to rebuild the PlayStation Plus into a new three-tier service to further compete with Microsoft and Nintendo’s services, things were a bit vague about how the conversion to the new layers would work. Users have started stacking prepaid subscriptions to PlayStation Now, Sony’s cloud streaming service on consoles and PC, in the hope that the $ 59.99 per year service will become the PlayStation Plus Premium at $ 119.99 per year. Sony was quick to prevent many people from taking advantage of this discount, but it could not prevent people from buying and redeeming the tickets for Some Type of service – and the remaining PS Now voucher cards will give you at least a partial PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.

At least, they’ll start in June. Sony is now preventing many people from redeeming prepaid vouchers until after the re-launch of PS Plus. Only users who are not yet registered can redeem a one-, three- or 12-month prepayment card, which they are Still sold at many retailers (Including directly From Sony).

What happens if you have a prepaid voucher as soon as June rolls over? Well, it will still be worth redeeming them as soon as you can. Sony has prepared this helpful chart to explain how much they are worth when converting to the new service. While a PlayStation Now month will not buy you a PlayStation Plus Premium month, Sony claims that you will still receive a “duration equal to the monetary value of your original voucher.

Did I say helpful? I meant horror. But just as Sony’s announcement of its new PS Plus service has been replete with confusion, so has its media coverage of conversions so far. Hopefully Sony’s next new information will be the full list of accessible games with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, so people have a clearer idea about Why These new layers are worth subscribing to.
