Mercenaries of Fortune will launch on Xbox on June 22nd. Here’s what’s coming.
Equip yourself with the Battle Pass
Equip yourself with the golden hunting battles ahead of you with Mercenararies of Fortune Battle Pass, which features 100 layers of new content, including two new weapons for free: the Marco 5 SMG and the UGM-8 LMG.
- Marco 5: This is the perfect SMG for aggressive players who stay in motion. Best when shot from close range from the waist, it is also the first SMG inside vanguard Introduce Akimbo Proficiency. Now we’re really talking.
- UGM-8: The UGM-8 combines mobility with firepower so operators can keep up with their teammates while offering oppressive fire. Use Gunsmith to tilt your weapon towards power or speed and find the balance that works for you.
Buy the Mercenarars of Fortune battle card to gain the immortal task force running Captain Butcher immediately in Level 0. Appearing later in the shop are the other two immortal operators, Callum Hendry and Ikana Olu.
Earn two more weapons – the Push Dagger and Vargo-S Assault Rifle – by completing their in-game challenges or by purchasing their corresponding store packs later in the season.
Fortune’s Keep, Caldera Points of Interest updates and more War Zone
Fortune’s Keep is a mercenary hideout built on top of another peaceful town with a rich history and this is a completely original Resurgence map created by High Moon Studios. It’s about the size of Rebirth Island and has four distinct points of interest:
- The city: Inspired by colorful Mediterranean villages, this beachfront community is dotted with cobbled alleys and flat roofs to cross. An old fortress sits in the center of town, inviting the operators into an intense battle with its bell tower that dominates this section of the map.
- Smugglers BayTrue to its name, Smuggler’s Cove is packed with supplies, including gas masks that can be helpful in the event of a circuit crash. Be prepared to explore the winding sea caves, the caves with the sunlight shining from above, a small collection of fishing huts and a lighthouse.
- Preserve: The name of the island, the Kip is a medieval fortress that was converted into a headquarters and a hideout for mercenaries. Go on the batteries and go out to the guard towers to protect the area from invaders, but know that they can also easily fly over the walls using the nearby Redeploy balloons or sneak into the area using the island’s tunnel system.
- winery: A laid-back complex inspired by traditional three-lane maps, the winery provides plenty of cleaning opportunities. Go to the basement to stock up on supplies, or drive to the nearby camp that contains a helicopter pad and multiple military tents.
Also prepare for new challenges. Fortune’s Keep adds to the black market run contract, offering an opportunity to purchase off-market equipment like the Sequence Grenade and the Nebula V Minigun. Follow up with groups of mercenaries in cash rescue and take their gold sacks before they can take them off the island.
Storage Town reaches the crater: Originally in Verdansk, Storage Town reaches the crater of the volcano and is located between the mines, the airport, the village and the Dig site. Look for contracts and items in the spacious compound and use its new verticals to quickly go through the map. Expect more than a dozen more point changes across the caldera, in part because of new mercenary camps popping up. Maybe they’re looking for the rumors about the mercenaries’ safes?
Armored SUV (in season): Hop in the new armored SUV as you have to travel through enemy occupied territory. This vehicle features a mounted driver weapon, a dedicated turret seat on the roof, the ability to drop mines from close range and a Nitro Boost for rapid acceleration.
ATMs: Operate ATMs in “robbery” game modes to purchase gold bags that arise from time to time nearby. Gold will grow to a maximum amount.
EMP grenade: Restore vehicles and disrupt enemy players and artificial intelligence using the EMP grenade, a non-lethal tool that creates a short-term impact zone when it explodes. Affected players are deleted from their HUD information while vehicles are momentarily disabled.
Multiplayer brings new maps, gun game
USS Texas 1945 (Launch): Redesign of the USS Texas Map from Call of Duty: World War II, USS Texas 1945 Challenges operators to fight each other on a battleship off the coast. The map is designed for long-term tense dealings on the right and the harbor and offers plenty of close-up action among its many cramped interior locations. Set on a power point and do your worst.
Desolation (in season): Deployed to a listening position in the Pacific Ocean on a small to medium-sized map located in a crowded village devastated by destruction. Large mountains and vast scenery engulf the surroundings as you battle around the main building and along its fortifications along the creek.
Gun Return Game: Gun Game does its thing vanguard Premiere this season as Blueprint Gun Game, a new version that uses various weapon drawings. Was the first operator to advance in all 18 weapons to win the game. Eliminate an enemy to travel to the next weapon. Melee an enemy to return them one weapon and achieve the elimination of the final knife to secure victory. No benefits, Killstreaks or custom uploads.
Mercenaries of Fortune also brings a fresh season of Play ratings. Climb the ladder as you battle other competitors and earn new seasonal prizes along the way.
