And the most likely crossover is – the cinematic universe of Marvel and X-Men!
The collaboration of this Disney-owned franchise may not surprise many, given the crossover teased over the past year, but our research finds that not only are the two series perfectly matched – the potential profits from the crossover could total a whopping $ 510,193,334. That’s more than half a billion dollars!
These potential profits are based on the average box office earnings in each MCU and X-Men movie, meaning actual profits – given the expectations of building fans – can be even higher.
The next most compatible crossover is James Bond and Fast & Furious, which could be argued since the soft super spy is known for the flash vehicles he drives. And if the two Titans shared the screen, the car-laden crossover could see a potential ROI return of $ 530,715,846.50.
And finally – a small left field – the latest, most likely film duo, revealed as Ghostbusters and Star Wars. If the supernatural and intergalactic were to collide on screen, box office profits could be $ 365,296,083.50.
The most compatible characters for a movie franchise
Movies have more than just box office profits, as plot lines and characters are essential to the film’s success. From Batman to Bilbo Baggins, many iconic characters have graced our screens over the years.
So when it comes to crossovers, what characters would glow together on screen if their worlds collided? Based on the film-level analysis, it’s Owen Grady, the animal behavior of Jurassic World and Captain America’s Marvel that would be best suited for screen sharing.
Or fans will be able to see the James Bond 007 duo with Marvel’s Bruce Banner, the non-Hulk, combined with spy superheroes – and with his scientific expertise, Bruce could be Bond’s next Q.
