After tackling Metroid in Season 1, the second season of Game Informer’s Video Gameography podcast moves to one of the biggest shooting franchises in existence: Halo. It’s time to end season 2 as we look at Halo Infinite, the latest entry that has served as both a return to form and a dramatic reinvention for the franchise.
Halo Infinite was launched on December 8, 2021 (though its multiplayer was launched in an open beta version a month earlier). Following the mixed welcome to Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries completed the longest development cycle yet to create Halo Infinite. 343 Industries clashed over its many ideas towards the title, and a notorious first appearance in 2020 led to Infinite being postponed for an entire year because it was originally planned as the launch title for the Xbox Series X / S.
