Dungeon Boss: Respawned Tier List

Before we get into the layer list proper, here’s a description of how our layer system works so you can understand it.

What do our layers mean?

Below is a brief explanation of each of our layers:

  • S layer: The characters in this tier are the best the game has to offer. You need to prioritize unlocking these and increasing their power. One of these can carry you through the entire game, and a full party will make most of the game’s content trivial – provided you focus on increasing their power.
  • layer: If your collection is lacking in S tiers, A tiers are great for filling gaps. These characters are still great on their own, but they just lack a little something when you compare them to S-rank. Use them when you need to, but let them go when you can.
  • Doctor Gav’: During the early stages of the game, you’ll likely be relying on a single S-tier party and a bunch of B-tiers. These characters are pretty easy to get, and are solid, if unremarkable. Definitely replace them with A and S layers, but don’t be shy about using them if you have to.
  • Layer C: This is when we enter ‘bad character’ territory. C-tiers are, like D-tiers, some of the worst characters in the game, but they often have niche uses. They may be really strong in a certain game mode, or during a certain stage of the game. Take a close look at their skills and judge accordingly.
  • Layer D: It’s simply never worth using characters in this tier. They are the worst characters in the game, suffer from severe balance issues, and will underperform at all points in any situation. Don’t use them if you can avoid it.

S layer

God tier heroes.

course

Solid heroes that are great for filling gaps in your party when you don’t have enough S tiers.

Doctor Gav’

These heroes start out strong but fade later. Don’t be shy about using them, but swap them out as you unlock S and A tiers.

Layer C

In certain game modes, or at the start, heroes in this tier can excel. For the most part, they are useless.

Layer D

Never use D layers unless you can’t avoid it. They are dangerous in all game modes and at all stages of the game.

Dungeon Boss: Re-Tier List FAQ

Still not sure about our tier list? Have questions about Dungeon Boss: Respawn in general? I hope our tier list can help!

What is a layer list?

We probably should have answered that question at the beginning, eh? A tier list is, simply put, a list of all the characters in a specific game ranked from best to worst. In our case, S is the best characters with D being the worst, and A, B and C filling in the gaps.

The purpose of a tier list is to help you determine which characters to use at all stages of the game. We try to make our tier list as useful as possible by explaining our tier system.

For example, there are cases where certain characters are great at the beginning of the game, but fade away later on. Alternatively, they can be good in a certain game mode. We will always try to make this clear.

How did we pick our dungeon boss: re-tier list?

We’ve used a number of different sources when choosing our Dungeon Boss: Respawned tier list, but, mostly, we’re judging based on our personal experience with the game. As a result, this is bound to be a fairly subjective list, but there’s no getting around that.

To determine the ranking, we both experiment with the characters in the game (if unlocked), as well as theory based on skill descriptions and raw stats. This is why you’ll see our tier list change so much when a game first launches, as we’re in the testing phase.

It’s also worth noting that we scan communities, like Reddit, for community feedback. If the general consensus is that a specific character is strong or weak, we will reflect this in our tier list. In this way, it has a certain degree of objectivity.

We’ll end this section by reminding you that tier lists are inherently subjective. Your experience may be completely different from ours, so take it with a pinch of salt.

When will we update our dungeon boss: re-tier list?

You can expect to see an update to our Dungeon Boss: Respawned tier list whenever a new character is introduced. It will take time for us to test the character ourselves though, so expect a short delay.

We also update the list whenever a major balance patch arrives, as that will throw the meta out the window. Again, there may be a short delay as we experiment with changes and update our rating.
