The digital version of the board game Pandemic has been deleted from Steam and Mobile stores and publisher Asmodee Digital has revealed that the game will hit Xbox stores on January 31st and Switch eShop in late July. No advance notice was given, and the revelation of the game that left the Xbox and Switch was made in response to an email from a player asking what happened. Their statement is written as follows:
“We worked hard for 4 years on Pandemic and removing it from the stores was not an easy choice. This decision was made with a heavy heart for a variety of reasons that we can not reveal.
“For now, only the PC, App Store and Google Play have been removed. The Microsoft version will arrive on January 31, 2022 and then the Nintendo Switch by the end of July 2022.”
Anyone who purchased it before removing it from the Steam store will still be able to access the title, even if it was removed, so the same should apply to the Xbox and Switch. Asmodee Digital has also removed all traces of the game and also removed from its official website. Although no reason was given, it is quite possible that this is due to licensing issues that have arisen.
